Kris Cutlery Korean Jikdo Straight Sword forged out of 5160.  Differential heat treatment.  Blade has visible straight hamon on blade.  Some lights scratches near the tip at the kissaki.  Extremely sharp blade! Take extreme care and caution when handling this blade.  The blade is heavier and thicker than normal.  The mekugi in the center is in really tight, I have never been able to get it out.  The ferrule underneath the guard and the pommel end cap look to be epoxied on and sealed tight.  I cannot tell what the handle material is made of.  I think it is some kind of light metal, tin or aluminum perhaps.  The handle is oval shaped for a nice ergonomic when handling.  The balance of this sword is blade heavy.  Circular steel tsuba.  Overall length is 36 inches.  Blade length is 28 inches.  Tsuka or handle is 7 3/4″ inches in length.  Blade stock thickness near the hibaki is about 5/16″ thick and then tapers down nicely towards the kissaki or tip.  This sword is considered fully functional for live combat or test cutting practices.  Please email with any questions you may have.
