Here is a 'DEAD & COLORFUL BEAUTY' of a diamond willow carving blank.
Some measurements & additional information:
20+ COLORFUL diamonds.....
I removed a little bark to show some beauty below.
Some COOL & WIDE cobra like flare diamonds in a few places.
REMARKABLE rich reddish brown color variations
once debarked since harvested dead standing!
A few insect patterns towards the top...adds intriguing & natural beauty.
Some deteriorating sapwood on the edges in places.
Length is at
57-1/2 inches
Good feel & balance
Diameters average about 1 inch on the top & about 3/4 of an inch at the bottom.
Light support with a little flex if you push down with great pressure.
So light....Only weighs about 1 lb. 3 oz.
Easier bark removable with bark flaking off throughout.
